Brothers’ Circle
Brothers’ Circle is a community based support organization and “safe space” centered around the lives of young men of color who are identify as gay/bisexual or questioning. Through the organization and our partnership with South Carolina HIV/AIDS council and other community sponsors we are able to provide priceless resources and amenities
- Real Talk Sessions: An open group discussion addressing issues that are affecting the lives of gay/bisexual men and the gay community. The group is designed to fun and interactive; it offers support HIV preventive measures and education.
- Life Coaching: Work one-on-one with a Life Support Counselor, whose role is to assess high risk behaviors and create strategies for long and short term goals in personal risk education.
- Counseling: Provided by a licensed social worker to address clinical depression, family issues, societal barriers, substance abuse issues and many other concerns.
- Free HIV Testing: Rapid 10 minute HIV testing and counseling is provided on site. Provided through SCHAC
The Mission
Brother’s Circle is a program that’s by us and for us. It’s designed to address the needs of young men between the ages of 17 and 24. Whether they’re straight, gay, bisexual, or questioning their sexuality. Some of the services we offer include:
- HIV/AIDS And STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection Education
- Emotional And Mental Health Support
- Group Level Counseling
- AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) Education
- Life Skills Development (Such as resume writing, job skill mentoring)
- Community Resource and Reference Referral

The Spot is the home of the Brothers’ Circle program
- It’s Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood in Columbia.
- You can feel free to be yourself.
- Drop in anytime, watch TV and videos in the library.
- Seek Knowledge on the internet in the computer lab.
- Just come to talk to any of one of our free health advocates.
- HIV prevention materials are available for free…Everyday!
- Free and Confidential oral HIV Testing is also available every Thursday.
