Project Lifeline
Project Lifeline is a social marketing tool in which trained staff interview gatekeepers or people within a community that see themselves at high risk of acquiring or transmitting the HIV virus. Staff members talk to clients to determine if they are eligible to take part in the incentive program. SCHAC services are free. Persons that meet Project Lifeline requirements and choose HIV testing or persons who choose Medical Case Management that are positive and have been out of treatment and care for 6 months or more are eligible for a $10.00 gift card.
Project Lifeline Goals:
- Promote HIV testing and increase the numbers of persons that see themselves at risk for HIV infection
- Link persons identified as HIV positives to support services and medical treatment and care
You May Qualify if You Have:
- Unprotected sex and have never been tested
- Ever had sex with a male
- Ever had a partner who has had sex with men
- Refused HIV/AIDS medical treatment and care even though you are a Person Living with HIV/AIDS
- A sexual partner who is a Person Living with HIV/AIDS
- Ever taken money or drugs in return for sex
- Unprotected sex with multiple partners
- Shared needles
- A sexual partner that shares needles
- Ever used crack cocaine on a regular basis
- Been the sexual partner of a person that uses crack cocaine
- A history of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
