Satir

The mission of the Satir family support group is to connect and empower persons who have been infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. This utilizes the Satir Growth Model to assist with stigma, teach participants to respect differences, transform conflicts, develop possibilities for change and growth, and enable people to take responsibility for their own lives, health, and relationships.

Satir is intended to be facilitated in a support group forum in which includes persons infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Satir model group is made of client centered activities such as:

• Temperature readings
• Mastering communication with family and friends
• The Stages of change
• Self-Esteem maintenance kit
• The Mandala
