Community Rapid HIV Testing

The South Carolina HIV/AIDS Council (SCHAC) Rapid HIV Testing Program is funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Divisions of HIV/AIDS Prevention Branch.  This program also includes syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) during mobile unit street outreach funded by the South Carolina Department of Health and Educational Control, STD/HIV Division.

The Testing Program offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL Trinity Biotech Uni-Gold (10 minutes) screenings, four (4) days a week Monday through Thursday. Testing program staff are trained intervention facilitators, phlebotomists, and Rapid Testing Counselors who provide confidential sessions within Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived laboratories.  In-house services include V.O.I.C.E.S. (Video Opportunities for Condom Education and Safer Sex) Risk Reduction Group Level Intervention, a CDC approved Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Intervention (DEBI) for high/very high risk clients.

The Testing Program offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL 10-minute Rapid Testing four (4) days a week:

Monday  1pm – 3pm

Tuesday  9:30am – 3pm

Wednesday 9:30am – 3pm

Thursday  9:30am – 3pm
