  • Block Party & Health Fair at S.C. HIV/AIDS Council
    12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.
FREE Admission & FREE Confidential Rapid HIV Testing
Calhoun Street between Main and Assembly Streets

Come party with a purpose in a family-friendly atmosphere! Find out your HIV status, while you listen to R&B recording artist Calvin Richardson and your kids get their faces painted!

Free and confidential HIV testing with results in ten minutes will be offered by S.C. HIV/AIDS Council at the Block Party. While you’re there, visit the many Health Fair booth sponsors like the Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology (Garners Ferry Campus) for free manicures and eyebrow waxing, the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy for free massages, and the U.S. Army rock climbing truck for the truly adventurous and energetic!

Other exciting entertainment includes Gospel choirs, hip-hop artists, step teams and spoken word performances. Free food is available once you visit 6 Health Vendors’ booths. Bring your family and friends. If we all knew our HIV status, we could dramatically decrease the spread of HIV.

Ride a motorcycle? Come show your inner Biker Self for a good cause by making a donation and joining the members of the Midlands Bikers Association on their annual charity ride.

This year all donations will be given to the S.C. HIV/AIDS Council to help their efforts to raise awareness about HIV in South Carolina and to give people the life-saving knowledge of their HIV status through free testing and counseling.

Additional related events sponsored by the Midlands Bikers Association are the Black & White Ball Friday, June 27, at 9:00 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Bluff Road, Admission $10.00, and the Bikers Worship Service and Lunch, Sunday, June 29, at Brookland Baptist Church. Welcome to all!
