Welcome

Welcome to the South Carolina HIV/AIDS Council Website. A Website dedicated to providing information about HIV/AIDS in the state of South Carolina.

SCHAC provides services in the following areas:

(a) Education and Awareness; (b) Program development and Technical Assistance(c) Free HIV Testing, Prevention Counseling, and Mobile Street Outreach, (d) Access to Community Resources and HIV/AIDS Services, and (e) Advocacy.

We believe that persons who are infected with the virus that causes AIDS must remain connected to the larger community, if they are to enhance their quality of life and commit themselves to stopping the spread of HIV among African Americans and citizens throughout South Carolina. We must help communities explore ways to convince HIV infected individuals not to deliberately promote its spread. We work to fulfill need and address the total care of persons living with HIV/AIDS. Through the efforts, SCHAC will identify, monitor, promote, and provide access to community resources and services rendered African American clients and others within the HIV/AIDS challenged community.

Our vision includes strategies to address the needs of those who are affected by HIV. It is our belief that these members must be supported emotionally, mentally, and financially, when possible. These individuals are immediate and extended family members, friends, and lovers who love and care for persons living with HIV.
