Testing & Counseling
The South Carolina HIV/AIDS Council Rapid HIV Testing Program is funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Divisions of HIV/AIDS Prevention Branch. This program also includes syphilis screenings funded by the South Carolina Department of Health and Educational Control, STD/HIV Division.
The Testing Program offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL 20 minute Rapid Testing and Syphilis screenings, four (4) days a week:
- Monday 2 pm – 4 pm
- Tuesday 10 am – 4 pm
- Wednesday 10 am – 4 pm
- Thursday 10 am – 4 pm
No testing on Fridays. Please call for appointment!
The program provides OraQuick Advance Rapid Testing, and twenty (20) minute oral (mouth swab) testing.
Risk Reduction Group Level Intervention VOICES a CDC approved (DEBI) Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Intervention for high/very high risk clients.
Individual Level Intervention (ILI) an opportunity for clients who see themselves at risk to receive one on one counseling in risk reduction from a Master level counselor designed to increase the HIV/AIDS/STI awareness within the community.
The Testing program staff are trained intervention facilitators, phlebotomist, OraQuick Advance Rapid Testing Counselors who provides confidential sessions with a CLIA waived laboratory.
